DreamCloud is a maker that has seen enormous success in recent years and they have recently decided to release a second mattress. In this DreamCloud Luxury mattress review, I will discuss this more premium option that is a great addition to their current range.
This is another rolled mattress so it will come packed inside a box and will be delivered directly to your door. It’s an improved version of the DreamCloud mattress and despite the fantastic specs, it still comes with a reasonable price tag. Mine was delivered almost two weeks ago so it’s time now to move to the full review below.
What are the layers inside this mattress?
The DreamCloud Luxury mattress features 4 layers plus the cover. In detail, these are:
- A Dream Plush memory foam layer that is designed to sleep cool. It also adds pressure relief and comfort.
- A Dynamic Transition layer that promotes a proper spinal alignment.
- A Support Foam layer that does what its name suggests, supports your body.
- A layer made of 15cm pocket springs that are designed to minimise motion transfer and improve edge support.
The mattress measures 28cm in height so it has a medium loft. The image below gives a better look at how it looks from the inside.
Is this a good cover?
The cover of this mattress is made with a blend of rayon and polyester. The former adds a more premium character to it while the latter adds durability and makes this a breathable fabric. This is a fantastic combination and this cover is one of the best I have seen. The design is a gorgeous one and it will definitely remind you of a luxury hotel mattress. On the sides, you will find 4 handles that can help you move this mattress whenever that is needed.
The bad news is that this is not a removable cover so you can’t pop it inside your washing machine. If it gets stained, you should use a damp cloth and some mild detergent. Other than that, I cannot find any drawback here and this is definitely a cover that will impress you.
Is this a firm mattress?
I want to continue writing this DreamCloud Luxury mattress review and talk about its feel. This is a mattress that is designed to have a good balance between comfort and support so it comes with a medium-firm feel. If I use my virtual scale here, I would say it’s a 6.7 with 10 being really firm. I want to talk now about my experience with it during the past two weeks.
Starting from the back position, the mattress hugged my body and I felt comfortable sleeping this way. There were high levels of pressure relief and support and the mattress did an excellent job distributing my weight evenly.
Turning to the side position, the pocket springs adjusted quickly and helped my spine to align correctly. I didn’t feel any discomfort on my hips or shoulders and I felt well supported sleeping this way. The mattress remained very comfortable and I felt that side sleepers would love this mattress.
Finally, moving to the front position, the DreamCloud Luxury distributed my weight evenly and this enabled me to sleep comfortably. Support was excellent and I can comfortably say that this mattress is a true all-rounder.
If you sleep with your partner, the mattress has excellent edge support so you won’t feel that you will roll off the mattress. Additionally, the motion transfer is minimal so you won’t disturb each other during the night.
Will I pay for delivery?
When you order from DreamCloud you are eligible for free delivery provided of course you live in a UK postcode. Additionally, you can choose the day you want your mattress to be delivered and that is offered for free. This is very useful, especially for busy people like myself. Finally, they also offer an old mattress removal service that will cost you an extra £45. This is quite useful as it can be challenging to get rid of an old mattress. Delivery is quite fast so you will probably get your mattress within 2-5 working days.
In my case, I had to wait for 4 working days and the process was a straightforward one. Communication was great and I was informed about every step of the process. The courier was quite friendly and left the box at my doorstep. Bear in mind that this is quite a heavy mattress so you will probably need a second person to carry it to your bedroom. Overall, my experience with them was great so no complaints at all.
Can I try this before I buy it?
One of the main reasons you should buy the DreamCloud Luxury mattress is its support package. If you decide to buy one, you will get a 365-night trial period that gives you a full year to try this out. This is exceptional and the only other brand that offers that is Nectar. If for any reason, you are not happy with your purchase, you have the right to return it and get your money back. That makes this a risk-free purchase and it’s a massive strength of this mattress.
