After seeing great success with the REM-Fit 400 mattress, the popular maker decided to launch an even cheaper mattress. Despite the affordable price tag, the REM-Fit 1000 features a hybrid design and that is impressive. I got mine almost 10 days ago so it’s time now to move to the full review below.
What is this mattress made of?
The REM-Fit 1000 is made of 5 layers plus the cover. In detail, these are:
- An open-cell memory foam layer that has excellent temperature regulating properties. Additionally, it helps with pressure relief.
- A support foam layer that can contour your body and provide it with the needed support.
- A layer made of tall (12.5cm) pocket springs. They are designed to provide tailored back support but also to minimize motion transfer.
- Foam encapsulated side walls that significantly improve edge support.
- A high-density foam layer that is the base of this mattress.
The mattress measures 20cm in height so you should expect a medium profile. The picture below shows us the position of each layer in more detail.
Does it come with a good cover?
The cover of this mattress is a great one. It’s made of Re-Ax knitted fibres that have thermo-regulating properties. Moreover, they allow airflow so this mattress sleeps cool and is more hygienic. The cover feels soft and it looks of great quality. If you want to clean it, you can remove it and pop it inside your washing machine. This is great as I personally prefer removable covers. Unfortunately, there are no handles on the sides but the good news is that this mattress is lightweight. The design is a modern one and it’s very similar to the rest of the REM-Fit range. Overall, this is a high-quality cover that I really like.
Is this a firm mattress?
It’s time now to continue with this REM-Fit Pocket 1000 mattress review and talk about its feel. This is a mattress designed for the average sleeper so it comes with a medium-firm feel. If I use my virtual scale here, I would say it’s a 6.5 with 10 being really firm. Let’s talk now about my experience with it in the last 10 days.
Starting from the back position, the REM-Fit 1000 felt supportive and it managed to distribute my weight evenly. Pressure relief was decent and I was comfortable in this position.
Turning to the side position, the mattress helped my spine to have a proper alignment and that really impressed me. Support was good and I didn’t have any discomfort in the hip and shoulder areas.
Finally, moving to the front position, I felt that its feel is not ideal for this position. I felt a firmer mattress could do a better job so if you are a stomach sleeper, you should look at the REM-Fit 500 mattress.
If you are a couple, this mattress has good edge support and minimal motion transfer so it’s a good choice for you.
Will I get free delivery?
One of the best things about REM-Fit is the fact they offer free next-day delivery. That means that you can have your mattress within 24h from the moment you place your order. Just make sure you order it before 1 pm. This is a very good deal especially if we consider that is a free service. My mattress was delivered on time and the process was straightforward. I received a text with my delivery slot and the courier delivered the box to my doorstep. Overall, I was happy with the service I got so no complaints at all.
How long is the trial period?
Some people don’t feel comfortable buying a mattress online. For this reason, REM-Fit decided to offer a 100-night trial period that gives you more than 3 months to try this mattress and decide later whether you want to keep it or not. If you are not happy with it, you have the right to return it and ask for your money back. REM-Fit won’t ask any questions and they will take care of everything. I have to mention here that you don’t need to keep the original packaging to be able to complete a return.
Besides the trial period, you will also get a 5-year guarantee. This is not the longest in the market but at this price, I think it’s good enough. Overall, they offer a decent support package here so no complaints at all.
Is this a cheap mattress?
The REM-Fit 1000 is a super affordable mattress and a great choice for bargain hunters. The smaller size (Single) sells for £299 with the bigger (Super King) going for £499. Moreover, the people at REM-Fit run frequent promotions so you will probably pay even less than that. For instance, at the moment of writing there was a 40% of promotion. That means that a King sized mattress would only cost you £258! This is a true bargain here and it’s definitely worth your attention. The table below has pricing information for all available sizes.
