Eve is one of the oldest boxed mattress makers in the UK and they have recently decided to create adaptable mattresses. In this Eve Wunderflip Premium mattress review, I will discuss this interesting option that sounds promising.
This mattress has two sides, one with a softer feel and one with a firmer one. It also features a clever mechanism that allows you to change its firmness with ease. Mine was delivered almost a week ago so it’s time to move to the full review below.
What is this mattress made of?
This mattress features a complicated design that features 6 layers plus the cover. These are:
- A memory foam layer that has advanced pressure-relieving properties. It’s also designed to sleep cool and keep the temperature low.
- A dual spring system consisting of both tall and micro springs. These are designed to offer tailored support.
- Another memory foam layer that is identical to the one above.
- A firmer foam layer that adds sturdiness and support.
- A reactive spring system that features 1,000 tall springs that are softer at one end and firmer at the other. This is how this mattress has a different feel on each side.
- A softer foam layer that gives a plush and comfortable feeling.
Besides the core layers, the people at Eve have added a foam encasement that massively improves edge support. The Eve Wunderflip Premium mattress measures 28cm in height and the image below gives us a better look at its architecture.
Does this mattress have a nice cover?
The cover of this mattress is made of a deep quilted fabric that combines durability with comfort. It’s made with 100% natural ingredients and it’s treated with Purotex+. This is approved by Allergy UK and reduces dust mites and other nasties by up to 96.6%. That makes this mattress a great choice for allergy sufferers or those with sensitive skin. The top part is removable and machine-washable so this is a super practical cover.
The design is a modern one, featuring a dark bottom part and a white top part. Yellow details complete the look which is one of the best I have ever seen. On the sides, you will find handles that allow you to flip this mattress with more ease. However, this is a 2-person job so make sure you ask for help. Overall, this is an excellent cover that impressed me.
Is this a firm or soft mattress?
It’s time now to continue with this Eve Wunderflip Premium mattress review and discuss its feel. This is a mattress with two sides, one with a medium feel and one with a firmer feel. During the past week, I have tried both and depending on your sleeping position, you should decide accordingly.
Back and side sleepers should probably go for the medium setup that has a good balance between comfort and support. It also offers high levels of pressure relief so your spine will have a proper rest.
If you are a front sleeper or you have a bad back, the firmer setup would be a better match. After all, it’s more supportive which is needed when someone sleeps on their stomach. Both setups performed well for me so I am sure that most sleepers will find the one that best suits them.
Do I have to pay for delivery?
If you decide to buy this mattress, you will get a free delivery service that will deliver your mattress within 7 working days. That of course depends on available stock and your postcode. They offer a 2-man delivery service that will deliver your mattress directly to your room of choice. This is great, especially for such a heavy mattress like this one. All Eve mattresses are delivered by Bensons for Beds (owner of Eve).
In my case, I got my mattress after 3 working days and they gave me a call 60 minutes prior to my delivery to let me know they were on their way. The couriers were helpful and they placed the mattress in my second bedroom. The whole process was smooth and I was happy with their service. Finally, I have to mention here that they also offer a mattress recycling service that will cost you an extra £45.
Can I try this mattress at home?
When you buy an Eve mattress, you will be offered a 200-night trial period so you have plenty of time to try this at home. This is actually more than 6 months and it’s one of the longest trials offered in the UK. If for any reason, you are not happy with it, you can return your mattress and ask for a full refund. The process is straightforward and their customer support will help you out.
Moreover, this mattress comes with a 10-year guarantee which is the standard these days. For more details on that, make sure you visit their dedicated page. Overall, this is a complete package here so no complaints from my side.
How much will it cost me?
One of the main drawbacks of this mattress is the fact it’s only available in 3 sizes. The smaller one (Double) sells for £999 with the bigger one (Super King) going for £1,199. The table below has pricing information for all available sizes.
SIZE | DIMENSIONS | PRICE |
Double | 135 x 190 x 28cm | £999 |
King | 150 x 200 x 28cm | £1,099 |
Super King | 180 x 200 x 28cm | £1,199 |
