Many sleepers look for mattresses with adjustable firmness and the people at Eve decided to address that. In this Eve Wunderflip Ultimate mattress review, I will talk about this premium option that recently got my attention.

The Ultimate mattress follows the same philosophy so you will get two sides, one medium and one firm. My mattress was delivered a week ago so I am ready to write the full review.
What is this mattress made of?
The construction of this mattress is a complicated one and it features 6 layers plus the cover. In detail, these are:
- A latex layer that can mould around your body. It has pressure-relieving properties and it’s naturally hypoallergenic.
- A memory foam layer that can eliminate pressure points. It has an open-pore construction that allows airflow.
- A dual spring system which is a combo of 2,000 springs both mini and tall. This is a great support source.
- A firmer foam layer that adds sturdiness.
- A reactive system that is made of 1,000 springs that are softer at one end and firmer at the other. This allows the mattress to have a different feel on each side.
- A softer foam feel that adds a plush feel and comfort.
The mattress also features a side foam encasement that improves edge support. It measures 28cm in height and the image below gives us a better look at how it’s built.
How good is this cover?
The cover of this mattress is made of a deep quilted fabric. They took this approach because they wanted to give a more premium character to this mattress. The cover is both comfortable and durable and it has a beautiful design that I really love. It’s made with natural materials and it’s treated with Purotex+. The latter is approved by Allergy UK and reduces dust mites and other nasties by up to 96.6%. That means that this mattress is an excellent choice for allergy sufferers or people with sensitive skin.
The good news is that the top part of the cover is removable and it’s machine-washable. That allows you to maintain this mattress with zero effort. On the sides, they have added 4 handles that will help you flip this mattress. This is a practical feature that is much needed, especially for a flippable mattress like this one. Overall, the people at Eve managed to build a fantastic cover here that genuinely impressed me.
What is the feel of this mattress?
I want to continue writing this Eve Wunderflip Ultimate mattress review and talk about its feel. As I have mentioned above, this is a flippable mattress with one side having a firmer feel and the other side having a medium one. Last week, I slept on both sides and I felt that the mattress performed quite well regardless of the side I used. It was well-balanced and the weight distribution was excellent.
For those sleeping on their back and side, the medium setup will do a better job. It’s both comfortable and supportive and it will allow you to have a neutral spinal alignment.
On the other hand, for those who prefer to sleep on their stomach, the firmer setup would be the best choice. It will better support your hips and shoulders and will ensure you sleep the right way.
Do they offer free delivery?
When you buy a mattress from Eve, you are eligible for a free 2-man delivery service which takes between 1-7 working days. That of course depends on what stock they have but also your distance from their warehouse. In my case, it was 3 business days and I remind you that I am based in London. All their deliveries are handled by Bensons for Beds which is the current owner of Eve. I also have to mention here that for an extra £45 you can have your old mattress removed. This is a useful add-on as it’s not always easy to get rid of your old mattress.
On the day of my delivery, I got a call 60 minutes prior to their arrival which informed me that they were on their way. As expected, they placed the mattress in the room of my choice and this was very helpful as this is quite a heavy box. Overall, this was a great service from them so no complaints at all.
Does it come with a trial period?
Buying a mattress online can be a risky decision and for this reason, the people behind Eve offer a 200-night trial period. That gives you more than 6 months to try it at home and you can decide later whether you want to keep it or not. If for any reason, you are not happy with your purchase, you can return it and get your money back. The process is free and you don’t have to keep the original packaging to be able to make a return.
Besides that, you will also get a 10-year guarantee that will have you covered for a long time. Overall, this is a competitive package and is what I expected from a premium mattress.
Is this an expensive mattress?
If you are considering buying this mattress, I have some bad news for you. It’s only available in 3 sizes so the options are quite limited. The smaller one (Double) sells for £949 with the bigger one going for £1,199. However, Eve is a maker that runs frequent promotions so you will most likely pay less than the retail price.
