Does it feature a nice cover?
This is a luxury mattress that comes with an embedded topper. This adds extra comfort but also a real premium character to it. The sleeping surface is made of Mulberry Silk, which is a sustainable material. It has the ability to regulate heat and allows airflow. Moreover, it’s quite soft but, at the same time, a truly durable material. This is a great combination and the people at Owl and Lark made the right decision here.
The design is a classy one and the cover looks really beautiful. It comes with beige sides and a white top part. One thing I have to mention here is that it’s not removable, so you cannot clean it using your washing machine. On the sides, there are 4 handles that will help you move it with more ease. Having said that, this is quite a heavy mattress, so definitely ask for help. Overall, this is a well-made cover that will impress you.
Is this a firm mattress?
It’s time to continue writing this Owl and Lark Airsilk mattress review and discuss its feel. This is a medium-firm option that behaves more like a firm mattress and it’s designed for those looking for balanced support. If I use my virtual scale here, I would say it’s a 7 with 10 being really firm. I want to talk now about my experience with it during the past ten days.
Starting from the back position as always, the mattress distributed my weight evenly, and this eliminated all the pressure points on my back. The sleeping surface didn’t feel too firm, and I was quite comfortable sleeping this way.
Turning to the side position, the springs and foam layers adjusted quickly, which allowed my spine to align correctly. There was no major discomfort in my hips or shoulder, and support levels remained high.
Finally, turning to the front position, the sleeping surface had the ideal firmness and I felt that this mattress would suit all stomach sleepers. Support remained great, and I can say that the Airsilk mattress will suit all sleeping positions.
If you share a bed with a partner, this mattress has excellent edge support so you will get in and out of bed with ease. Moreover, motion transfer is minimal, so you won’t disturb each other during the night. As a result, I can say that this is a couple’s friendly mattress.
Do they offer free delivery?
As expected from such a brand, all mattresses come with a free delivery service that usually takes 4-5 working days. The good news is that you can choose the date that suits you best, so no need to worry if you have a busy schedule. As I have mentioned already, this mattress will come rolled inside a canvas bag. Additionally, for an extra £50, you can have your old mattress removed. Just make sure you tick the appropriate box during checkout.
In my case, it took 4 working days to get my mattress so I had to wait for a bit. The canvas bag looked impressive and it’s a massive upgrade when compared to a carton box. The courier was polite and helpful, and communication was great. Overall, I was super happy with their service, so I have no complaints at all.
